49,900 1959 Austin-Healey 100-6

These 100-6’s were only built from 1956 through 1959, they were the replacement for the 100 and then followed by the 3000. Together, they were known as the big healeys. First of all, the car comes out of long term ownership with the current owner purchasing it in 1967. The car was used as a daily driver for several years while working at the university of michigan. After several years the owner decided to have the car restored to its glory and in 1981 made the voyage to lakeland, fl and tsikuris classics where it underwent a frame off restoration. Paul tsikuris was a leader in healeys at the time, so the car was done very well. Included with the sale are not only every receipt for the last fifty years, but also receipts for the restoration. This also includes hand written correspondents between the seller and paul tsikuris along with pictures. This tremendous auto is finished in healey blue over blue interior. It has a nice fitting soft-top, tonneau and side curtains. This is one of the easiest starting healeys i have personally had the pleasure of offering. The car runs and drives excellent as well with good brakes and tires. However, keep in mind that although the paint has held up tremendously well, it is nearly a 40 year old restoration with some shrinking in the paint. This car comes ready to be enjoyed with all documentation included.

The mark i sprite made from 1958-1961 became affectionately known as the frogeye in the uk and the bugeye in the us. The initial design intended for the headlights to be retractable but cost cutting deleted that idea. The engines used in the early cars was a 948 cc producing 43 hp. These wonderful little cars have a huge race following along with the midgets having their very own series called the spridget races. This super nice car and in addition to the engine upgrade has an exhaust header as well as a upgraded dual master cylinder brake system with separate reservoirs for brake and clutch. It is also fitted with a solid state electronic fuel pump which is found to be more reliable. The front and rear have been lowered for better handling along with new fuel tank. There has been a complete service in the last 2 years with full fluid system flush, rear hub seals, rear wheel cylinders replaced, repaired radius arm bushings, tuning and shimming front suspension with full lube job. The car was restored by a well known british car mechanic in louisiana, who is now retired. His expertise and attention to detail is apparent throughout the car especially in the mechanicals. This car is a spirited driver and will put a smile on any ones face who appreciates open air british motoring. This fantastic little bugeye is ready to go.
