The Jeep brand and their go anywhere ability of the CJ’s is documented and etched in automotive history forever. We love cool and authentic cars that have stood the test of time and this special CJ5 offered here is no exception. Bought new in Kentucky by a farmer to keep at his farm to drive into town and use when needed. He did get into the car and had the car repainted in the factory black color and went thru fixing and replacing anything that needed to be done. Hardware, trim pieces or hoses were all either replaced or corrected. He added the stunning 15in Ultra high polished wheels along with the Goodyear Wrangler tires that have less than a few thousand miles on them. The rear tow hitch was added along with the 5point harness to use effectively if needed, however he never used it. The new soft top and frame work were added just recently along with matching doors. Manual choke was added to replace the electronic one and allows the CJ to fire up with ease. Also a nice and fairly rare option on the CJ5 is power steering. All features seem to work properly with heat fan switch, all lights and blinkers, wipers and even the cigarette lighter. Vehicle comes with new center console, original owner’s manuals and two sets of keys. The quality and rarity of a CJ5 like this is very special and finding one like this is near impossible.

It has had one recent repaint and received new decals. The body shows well and polishes up with a nice shine. The jeep is powered by a 304 v8 with a 4 speed manual transmission. The engine and the area under the hood were given some attention to detail and is nicely painted up. It sits on 15 inch chrome wheels with 33x12. 5x15 wild country radial tires mounted up. It features a chrome grille as well. It would be a challenge to get this thing stuck, but if achieved there are tow rings mounted on the front bumper. The jeep has had a few parts added and upgrades done to it. It has a newer alternator, edlebrock 4 barrel carburetor, chrome air cleaner, dual exhaust, msd ignition with accel wires, new aluminum radiator and hoses, dual exhaust, new brake calipers and pads, power brakes and power steering, aluminum intake. The interior features recently re-upholstered bucket seats and a bench in the rear done in black vinyl. The soft top is in good condition as are the soft doors. The interior was accented with a chrome gauge panel and glovebox door. The jeep is equipped with a roll bar and a lockable center counsel. Aftermarket volt meter, temperature, and oil pressure gauges were added. The very first cj prototype was introduced in 1944 by willys, and the same basic vehicle stayed in production through seven variants and three corporate owners until 1986. The cj or civilian jeep became famous for their durability and ruggedness in during war-time operations and this is why the company immediately began production on the jeeps for civilian use at the end of wwii. Although the look of the jeep has remained close to that of its first off the line almost 70 years ago, they have had and were built for numerous purposes from farm use to that of municipalities. They also became famous amongst ranchers, hunters, and off-road enthusiasts. Gr auto gallery is pleased to present this 1977 amc jeep cj5, starting with the full steel body which is great shape and believed to have not been replaced and is in a fantastic wandabase silver and according to the owner was done recently and is in great shape. The black bestop tiger top was newly added and looks to be in near perfect condition, this also comes with the matching bikini top. All of the bumpers and even the doors look to be great shape outside of some minor scrapes. Inside the jeep is where this one is set apart, the custom black leather rugged ridge seats in the front and back as well as like-new black carpet. The dash has lots of upgrades as well, a speedhut cj gps speedometer and instrument cluster as well as a retrosound stereo with bluetooth and satellite capabilities the sound system has 6x9s in the back and highs in the dashboard. The engine is the biggest for that era cj5 in the 5. 0l 304ci v8 with a 3-speed manual. The engine had some improvements done to which include new headers and exhaust system as well as an edelbrock intake and spectre air cleaner. This jeep also has had the front disc brake conversion done to it and stops on a dime. The package included was the signature large golden eagle on the hood, special fold spoke wheels, large tires, golden eagle lettering, levi soft top, levi interior décor…. The golden eagle represented the top of the line for the cj 7 and the package added a healthy $1248. 00 dollars to the price in 1978. The 1978 jeep golden eagle offered hear has been the recipient of a complete frame off, no expense spared, nut and bolt restoration said to have totaled in excess of 70, 000 dollars. The entire golden eagle was disassembled, stripped to bare metal and masterfully refinished in its original alpine white over tan levi interior. The frame, underside and suspension components were also stripped and restored to perfection, the new golden eagle graphics masterfully applied and the signature 10 spoke gold wheels were stripped and powder coated, the engine and mechanicals were all address and fully restored / refurbished. Mechanically, this jeep is on the button. Enough can not be said of the overall quality, presentation and mechanical fitness of this 1978 jeep cj7 golden eagle.
