The company was bought and sold several times until being put to rest in 2006 with its last headquarters in Cancun Mexico. Offered here is a vehicle for someone that wants to be unique but also likes to tinker and play with a car that could have some serious upside. Very few of these remain on the roads and the interior of this one is very nice with lots of recent upgrades and replacement parts. The paint has its given patina and the brakes will need some work. Under the hood is a professionally prepared packard 352 v8 engine, fed by dual quad carburetors, manual transmission and rear wheel drive. Highlights include: custom interior, ididit tilt steering column, custom gauges, custom radio, clock, jag xjs wheels, matching spare, original bumpers and stainless, power steering, power brakes, dual flomaster exhaust, new floors, and a killer look. This car is a blast to drive and gets a ton of looks whenever seen. Restoration documentation includes: pictures of the original donor body and frame, binders full of notes and receipts documenting the work performed. Dare to be different in this 1955 studebaker. Gr auto gallery is pleased to present this 1960 studebaker lark for purchase. Studebaker-packard was looking for the best way to recuperate their money they had been losing for the last couple years going into the mid-50's. This time was hard for the oldest american automotive company due to post-war economy and concerns but their company president, harold e. Churchill, thought of an idea to win their segment back. They began producing compact versus their typical full-size model and to save cost and keep size practicality in place, they kept the same platform but eliminated the vehicle hangover on each end. This vehicle could still seat six people, store plenty of luggage and became a quick success due to these fine points. By the end of the 50's the lark model became popular enough to keep them in business similar to what the champion model had done for them prior to the war. This 1960 studebaker lark came out of arizona in 2009 and was restored as a restomod. It is offered here for sale as a really fun, unique build that cruises like a modern car. It’s powered by a 350ci v8 engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. It also features an edelbrock carburetor, new thermostat, power steering, power front disc brakes, new driveshaft, new clutch assembly, new water pump, digital tachometer, new (and bucket) seats, electric fan, and much more! The introduction of studebaker’s gran turismo hawk in the fall of 1962 was something akin to an icu patient hopping out of bed and reaching for a pack of luckies. Despite its aesthetics, it was far from a commercial success and was reconfigured time and time again. This wonderful example of the hawk comes in a very nicely kept rivera blue with very nicely finished chrome bumpers and accents as well as blue vinyl interior with a white headliner. According to the owner, this car has the original 289ci 4. 7l v8 that starts up and runs just as smooth as it did in ’62 with an updated carburetor. There is a smooth shifting 3-speed automatic transmission that puts all the power to the coker classic white-walled tires that turn as easy as pie with power steering. The interior is in fantastic shape with no rips or tears and the era correct am radio, electronic clock as well as working lights and turn signals.

After world war ii, studebaker came out with the 2r series of pickup trucks replacing the historic m series. The 2r series was a major redesign bringing a mechanically and aesthetically advanced model series to market. The upright look of the studebaker m5 was gone, replaced with a rounded, streamlined look, somewhat reminiscent of gm's advance design rigs, but somehow more modern. One of the truck's most dramatic styling cues wasn't added by designers but rather subtracted--there were no exterior running boards or steps on this truck, neither beneath the doors nor at the front of the bed. Further distinguishing the 2rs, they shared no body panels with studebaker cars, though bits and pieces were swiped from the parts bins: headlamp rims and a hood ornament from the champion, as well as hubcaps from the commander. Finally, to ensure that the bed's streamlined look remained dent-free, the sides were double walled--a standard design in years to come, but unusual in the late 1940’s. These trucks were quite the advancement in performance so they went to work, meaning clean surviving examples extremely rare to find. This 2r 05 body is on a 4x4 chevy k5 blazer frame powered by a 350ci v8 paired with a 350 automatic transmission. It also features power steering, power brakes, edelbrock carburetor, edelbrock intake, and more! The pink paint went along nicely with the removable pink panther magnets that were used on display at shows. This is a very cool build on a rarely found body style!
