Produced from 1965 thru 1980, but imports into the usa halted in 1974 and less than 4,000 were believed to be built in total. The classic look was designed by the italian renowned pinifarina and was praised for the greenhouse type feel in the cabin that was much more spacious and user friendly compared to the previous coupe designs of mg. The miles on the car are believed to be accurate as well. Quality and originality was the focus as well as using proper components whenever possible but also doing the best to make the car a very enjoyable driver when behind the wheel. This gt was delivered new out of fred deeley motors in vancouver in 1971 and was then traded back into the mercedes dealer in vancouver where it was sold to mr. & mrs. This car was driven and enjoyed for the next 12 years in 1995 he removed the car and stored it for the next 9 years. In december of 2004 one of the most impressive and costly restoration began on this car to restore it to its glory. This car was stripped down to bare metal and completely disassembled from top to bottom to give this project a true fresh start. All new fenders, door skins, floors, rocker panels and sheet metal are new and the bodywork alone took over 21 months to complete. While this body work was being done the engine, suspension, transmission and electrical system was being rebuilt, and modified to get ready to install into the new restoration. The interior is brand new with new seats, dash, carpet, and headliner. The gauges are working properly, heat works nicely and the lights are functioning. The bright work and chrome is exceptional and the extras that come with the car are very impressive. The list is very long and the stack of receipts is very impressive on this restoration. Just about everything on this vehicle is new or restored to a very high standard. Vehicle comes with brag book of pictures of the restoration, thick file of receipts and service work, original owner’s manual, log book from previous customer, and some additional odds and ends for parts. This is a show winning car that deserves to be flaunted in the collector car world and will only see significant upswing in value and demand as the year’s progress. There is nothing wrong with paying up for fantastic car that shows no excuses.

Roughly 4k of these were sent over to the us market and very clean and well restored examples are very hard to find at an affordable price. The car was completely sandblasted and stripped to a fresh starting point. From there it was rebuilt from the ground up using all new parts or reconditioned ones. The body was treated to a gorgeous dupont paint 9ah that will keep this car from ever being duplicated. Sound deadening material was added to the interior of the body to give the car more insulation. Further new items include but limited to; fuel tank, fuel lines, fuel pump, brake lines, brake shoes, brake pads, seals, clutch, throw out bearing, slave cylinder, brightwork, carpet kit, seats, headliner, wood steering wheel, floor mats, door panels, dash, wiring harness, headlights, taillights, wheels and new tires. The engine was professionally rebuilt with a weber two-barrel carburetor with aluminum intake manifold. This car shows near flawless and will provide the next owner with many enjoyable drives. This car has had the pleasure of living in the sunny dry climate of texas where it has spent almost its entire life, giving the metal plenty of time to soak up the warm air and not expose itself to the wet and cold northern climates that caused many of these to turn into rust buckets and become junk yard material. It has received a nice engine rebuild a few years back with all new wiring harness, hoses, rebuilt carburetor, new fan housing, tune up and new plugs. Car runs like a sewing machine and retains original paint color and proper tags. Vehicle has nice upgrades such as; full stereo, rear luggage rack, re-wrapped leather steering wheel, reconditioned wheels, full tonneau cover and convertible boot cover and owner’s manuals and shop manuals.
